Russia’s Gazprom says gas price for Ukraine at $167.57 in Jul–Sep
MOSCOW, Jun 30 (PRIME) -- The contract price of Russian gas supplies to Ukraine will amount to U.S. $167.57 per 1,000 cubic meters in July–September, CEO Alexei Miller said at a news conference on Thursday.
“The price for Ukraine under a price formula stipulated by the contract signed in 2009 amounts to $167.57 in the third quarter,” he said.
Gazprom believes the price in the third quarter is beneficial for Ukraine, he added.
Ukraine has requested supplies of 3 billion cubic meters of Russian gas in the third quarter, Miller said.
Gazprom has issued a preliminary bill for gas supplies to Ukraine, and Naftogaz Ukrainy should make a prepayment for the deliveries to start, he said.
Gazprom will not sign any supplementary agreements to the existing gas contract with Ukraine, Miller said.
“The existing contract does not require any supplementary agreements to resume gas supplies to Ukraine. It is only necessary to make a prepayment for this… Gazprom will not sign any supplementary agreements to the existing contract, there is just no necessity in it,” he said.
Ukraine has to pump 60 million cubic meters of gas into its underground gas storage facilities daily in order to accumulate 17 billion cubic meters by the start of the heating season, Miller said.
Miller also said Gazprom was not holding any talks with Belarus over the price of gas supplies and the debt for gas.
